Tribute Poem

Do not feel it has to rhyme. Think of the examples we have read.

Look to your brainstorm to answer…

1. Who is the hero and what heroic traits are emphasized? Loyalty, bravery, honesty, etc… What events demonstrate those traits?
2. Write your free verse poem in groupings of 4-6 lines; minimum of 18-20 lines. Your first and last groups may consist of 2 lines. Then reread and revise.
3. How are you describing the hero and events? Is there enough descriptive language so that the reader can see and feel the experience? Can you use more imagery, similes, or metaphors?
4. Type your final draft or write and outline in Sharpie.
